To change your Facebook password, follow these steps:
- Log In: Open your web browser and go to the Facebook website (facebook.com). If you’re not already logged in, enter your current login credentials (email or phone number and password) and click “Log In.”
- Access Settings: Click on the downward-facing arrow in the top right corner of the Facebook page. This will open a dropdown menu. From the menu, select “Settings & Privacy,” then choose “Settings.”
- Security and Login: In the left sidebar of the Settings page, click on “Security and Login.”
- Change Password: Under the “Login” section, you’ll see an option to “Change password.” Click on the “Edit” link next to it.
- Current Password: Facebook will first ask you to confirm your current password for security purposes. Enter your current password in the provided field.
- New Password: In the next section, you can create a new password. It’s essential to choose a strong and unique password. Facebook will show the strength of your password as you type it. Try to include a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password in the “Confirm new password” field to ensure it matches the one you entered in the previous step.
- Save Changes: Once you’ve entered your current password and your new password twice, click the “Save Changes” button.
- Confirmation: Facebook may ask you to confirm your identity by entering a security code sent to your email or mobile phone. This is an additional security step to ensure that it’s you changing the password.
- Password Changed: If everything is successful, you’ll receive a notification that your password has been changed. You should now use your new password to log in to Facebook.
